Job Description
Position Summary
The Building Engineer will be qualified to operate and maintain all heating and ventilating equipment, engines, turbines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigerating machines, air conditioning units, fans, siphons, and other building infrastructure equipment on the site assigned.
Essential Duties
Operate, maintain and repair air handling equipment, such as fan coils, duct heaters, unit heaters, air curtains, make up air units, 2 / 4 pipe air handlers, exhaust fans and HVLS fans.
Operate, maintain and repair water filters softeners, piping and pumps used in conjunction with water distribution, including all sinks, toilet bowls, supply lines, drains, water lines, and associated components.
Operate, maintain and repair all types of electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors and fans.
Maintain and repair loading dock levelers, docks and doors.
Maintain and repair kitchen equipment.
Conduct visual inspections of building systems and spaces, documenting deficiencies and, when appropriate, rectifying deficiencies.
Maintain electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building's lighting, mechanical, plumbing and control components including lighting maintenance.
Assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, handling brines or other secondary refrigerating liquids, together with valves, appurtenances and lines used in the system.
Assist in the operation, maintenance and repair of boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, appurtenances, and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.
Life/Safety and security systems - Equipment maintenance applicable in Engineer's scope will be included.
Possess the requisite licenses and permits required by local laws and ordinances to operate, repair and maintain the facility equipment and systems.
Other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Facility Supervisor Facilities Management.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Associates Degree or completed apprenticeship in a related field, or High School Diploma combined with relevant work experience.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in the implementation of the above.
EPA 608 type 2 License / Certification required.
