U.S. Bank Change Management Consultant – Mortgage Servicing in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Mortgage Servicing division is seeking a Change Management Consultant to support improved execution of process changes; to ensure adequate management controls and to deliver sustainable processes. This role will work in partnership with business line operations managers, risk managers, corporate compliance, and legal departments.

The ideal candidate will have intermediate or advanced (?) knowledge in one or more of the following mortgage servicing areas: bankruptcy, foreclosure, REO, customer advocacy, SCRA, escrow and insurance. Additionally, the candidate will understand the regulatory compliance framework applicable to these business areas.

Duties:

  • Research and complete impact assessment upon receipt of legal, regulatory and agency changes to identify operational applicability and key stakeholders. This can include Federal, state laws, FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, CFPB, and other regulatory agencies.

  • Complete gap assessments timely, including comparing new requirements to current processes and identifying needed changes. Responsible for research and cross-functional reviews.

  • Serves as operations expert for Regulatory Change Management and CBSS Risk. Works closely and collaboratively with P & P Governance team members and engages writers on procedural changes.

  • Establishes relationships and interacts directly with department leadership/managers. Represents the operation departments serving as the business expert, providing potential solutions and assisting with the implementation of new processes.

  • Escalates high-impact and high-risk initiatives to appropriate parties

  • Ensures appropriate support groups are engaged, as applicable, and coordinates various groups’ activities to ensure effective implementation. Develops process maps as needed

  • Submits requests for corporate approvals, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Three to five years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

  • Applicable professional certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience:

-Industry knowledge with the ability to review, understand and interpret applicable laws, regulations, regulatory trends and financial servicing bulletins that impact Mortgage, Servicing and Default.

-Experience and advanced understanding of the business line’s operations products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls which includes mortgage servicing, default and REO operations

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Visio and database applications

-Advanced knowledge of Risk and Compliance competencies

-Strong process, facilitation, project management, and analytical skills

-Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time effectively

-Must possess strong business acumen to assist business line to proactively identify and address business process / control gaps, associated risks and operational changes.
