District Merchandise Manager-Las Vegas and Sacramento Districts

Job Description

As a District Merchandise Manager you will drive sales and profit growth for your District through communicating localized merchandise opportunities and reinforcing merchandise/visual rollout execution. You will partner with Regional Merchandise Director, and General Managers focusing on improving performance through consistent delivery of key responsibilities.


• Merchandising Strategies, Directions, and Initiative-

o Communicates actionable sales opportunities based on market knowledge gained from store visits and shopping competition

o Assists in driving major events

o Reviews and interprets corporate merchandising communications (e.g., Vision Guides, Events, and Merchandise Core standards) to drive profitable growth

o Trains store teams on interpreting monthly vision guides

o Analyzes space planning report to quickly identify and prioritize areas of opportunity within the store and partners with General Manager to implement needed changes

• Store Localization Support-

o Reviews store sales, profit and space planning reports to identify potential growth opportunities and lead for improvement

o Searches out, gathers, and provides localization information to the Home Office from in-depth store visits to drive profitable sales growth in the market

o Identifies and defines scale of major store and district opportunities

o Builds district case for merchandise needs influencing the outcome through careful analysis of opportunities

o Understands the competitive landscape by observing and studying other companies to learn about current initiatives /strategies

• Store Environment/Visual Support-

o Visits stores in the district to review store environment standards and provide guidance and coaching to store leadership on execution

o Coordinates with Home Office Store Environment on Sephora installations, renovations rollouts and new store openings

o Troubleshoots and recommends solutions for adapting vision guide based on store configuration

o Ensures graphics, visual collateral and mannequins are SET to support the Vision Guide direction in support of the customer omnichannel experience

• Performance Standards-

o Consistently meets established performance standards for the role, including (but not limited to) merchandising, visual, localization, customer service, resulting in improved sales and profit

Skills & Experience

• Work Experience – 3-5 years relevant experience, ideally in a big-box retailer or in multi-unit specialty retail

• Education – Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
