POSITION SUMMARY
The House Supervisor is a registered professional nurse who participates as an active administrative member of the Nursing Management Team. The House Supervisor assumes responsibility for facilitating safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective care for patients throughout the hospital on an assigned shift. Principle responsibilities include facilitating staffing to meet the needs of patients for care, providing clinical support, promoting patient flow, communication with other agencies, and response to internal or external disasters. In addition, the House Supervisor promotes clinical initiatives, patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities. The House Supervisor acts as a resource and assists in problem solving and conflict resolution when necessary.
The House Supervisor may also work as a registered nurse in a variety of areas in the hospital based upon knowledge, skills, and abilities. As a Registered Nurse, the House Supervisor maintains current competency with nursing skills and demonstrates knowledge regarding Standards of Care and Standards of Practice.
EDUCATION:
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
* BSN preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
* Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in State of Nevada
* CPR, ACLS, BAR
EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a leadership role in an acut care hospital preferred
* Demonstrated experience in leadership/management and establishing interpersonal relationship necessary to promote an effective working environment
