POSITION SUMMARY: The Banquet Chef performs a variety of duties involving the menu planning, preparation, and serving of food for all Corporate and Restaurant High Profile Guests. Creates menus and events under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef or designee, with wide latitude for independent decision making. This position provides or supports service to internal/external customers. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all PlayLV Company standards, policies, and procedures.


  • Execute banquets and special events for property

  • Determine management, production and scheduling

  • Follow SNHD requirements

  • Establish personal performance goals that are consistent with company standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals

  • Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively

Position Requirements



  • High school diploma or the equivalent

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form

  • Ability to understand and analyze Budget and P&L Statements. Strong managerial skills

  • Knowledge of Food and Labor costs

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a large volume food establishment including banquets, buffets and specialty restaurants

  • Must possess excellent customer service, employee relations and leadership skills

  • Knowledge for all phases of food administration, cost control and familiarity of all food services is required

  • Must have ability to create high staff morale and develop people

  • Must have successful Board of Health inspections


  • Culinary Arts Degree

  • College degree or Culinary Arts Degree preferred
